A domain lock is a safety switch that stops your domain being moved away without your say-so. It is like putting a deadbolt on your front door.
How it helps
- Blocks sneaky or accidental transfers.
- Stays on all the time — you only turn it off when you want to move the domain.
How to switch it on
- Log in and open your Domain Manager.
- Pick your domain and find Registrar Lock.
- Turn it on.
Domain lock is available on most domain endings, but not all — a few TLDs do not offer it. If you do not see the option, that ending does not support it.
💡 Handy tip
Leave the lock on by default. Only unlock when you are ready to transfer your domain somewhere.
