MX records are the signposts that tell the internet where to deliver your domain’s email. MX stands for “Mail eXchange”. Without them, email has nowhere to go.
Good to know
- With our hosting, MX records are set up automatically — you do not need to touch them.
- Using another email company? Add their MX records with our DNS Configuration Assistant (Domains Menu).
- They often come with a priority number — smaller numbers are tried first.
💡 Handy tip
Only use the MX records from one email provider at a time, or your mail can get confused.
